Monitoring Prioritization
The department’s Monitoring Prioritization Tool is a risk-based assessment developed and maintained by the Bureau of Monitoring and Quality Improvement. The tool helps the department to apply its monitoring resources efficiently and systematically, focusing on the areas of greatest need and potential risk to youth.
The tool is updated on a quarterly basis to maintain a real-time view of where monitoring resources should be directed and should be viewed as a resource tool, and not a punitive measure.
What is the purpose of the Monitoring Prioritization Tool?
- Establishes the baseline monitoring frequency for routine monitoring activities for all contracts, as outlined in the Monitoring Prioritization Handbook, unless identified as “limited scope”.
- Provides a framework for developing monitoring schedules.
- Ensures programs and services with the highest needs receive the appropriate level of monitoring and oversight.
- Supports continuous improvement by ensuring monitoring efforts are focused where they will have the greatest impact, which helps strengthen program accountability and improves outcomes for youth across Florida.
