Celebrating the Annual DJJ Youth Success Day

Did you know...

That Florida's population of 10-to-17 year-olds was approximately 1.9 million in 2010. With such a great amount of youth, the Florida Department of Juvenile Justice is committed to abiding by its core values that prevention and education are paramount; to strengthen partnerships with judicial, legislative and community stakeholders; to promote public safety through effective intervention; to provide a safe and nurturing environment for our children; and to preserve and restore physical and mental health.

  • Employee Appreciation Day at DJJ Headquarters, 10:30 a.m. (local state and provider facilities) **PLEASE NOTE TIME CHANGE**
     
  • DJJ youth artwork and success stories displayed at the Capitol through Friday, April 8, as part of Children’s Week

Tuesday, April 5

  • DJJ Youth Success Day event at the Capitol, 1:00 p.m. at the Historic Capitol rear steps **PLEASE NOTE TIME**
     
  • Appearance by DJJ Youth Success Day Ambassadors
     
  • Governor’s Proclamation of DJJ Youth Success Day (requested)

Wednesday, April 6 through Friday, April 9

  • Reading in House and Senate Chambers of DJJ Youth Success Day Proclamation (tentative)
     
  • Local DJJ Youth Success Day activities at juvenile justice programs throughout Florida
