The Office of Staff Development and Training (SD&T) provides professional training, development, and support for all Department of Juvenile Justice staff (and private provider staff, as requested) through instructor-led and on-line courses. SD&T is responsible for directing, planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating juvenile justice training programs statewide. Training records and histories for all department and private provider staff are managed through its CORE Learning Management System.

Its mission is:

To prepare staff for their careers and cultivate their knowledge and skills by providing training, development, and support to all stakeholders.


 

Staff Development and Training is dedicated to preparing staff to assist the children and families of Florida to live in safe, nurturing communities that provide for their needs, recognize their strengths, and support their success. Its team takes pride to a new level of excellence by making the word an acronym describing their work ethic and adopting it as the SD&T motto.
