The Okeechobee Girls Academy 32 females between the ages of 13 and 18, in a non-secure residential commitment program. The program provides Mental Health Overlay Services (MHOS), Substance Abuse Overlay Services (SAOS), and gender-specific services that include but are not limited to case management, screening and assessment services, mental health and substance abuse treatment, behavior management, life and social skills, educational and vocational services, self-sufficiency planning and physical and recreational activities.

Youth at Okeechobee Girls Academy receive individual, group, and family therapy, as well as testing and psychiatric evaluation services. The program also provides gender-responsive services utilizing the “Girls Matter” curriculum that is tailored to the unique needs of the population. Gender specific treatment areas address sexual abuse, substance abuse, domestic violence, trauma, and crime specific topics. On-site health services address the individual medical needs of the youth. Clothing and uniforms are provided by the program.

The anticipated average length of stay is between three and nine months, depending on the youth's pace of success in completing her individualized treatment plan and goals.

Okeechobee Girls Academy is a Type 3 program offering English, Math, Science, Social Studies, and Reading. Career and technical opportunities include Business Education courses and a Home Builders Institute (HBI) pre-apprenticeship program in the construction trades.

Education services are provided through a contract between the program and the Okeechobee County School District.
