The Oak Grove Academy is a non-secure residential commitment program for 40 males, ages 14 to 19, which provides Substance Abuse Treatment Services.

Academic and career education instruction are provided.  The Oak Grove Academy coordinates academic services through the local Hamilton County School District.  Academic services focus on maximizing individualized achievement toward a standard high school diploma and post-secondary education, training, or employment. 

The Oak Grove Academy offers an education program that includes all course requirements for a standard high school diploma and is an on-site GED testing center that can be utilized by both youth and their family members. 

The Oak Grove Academy is a Type 2 vocational program that offers English, Math, Science, Social Studies, and elective courses.  The elective course is typically used to provide remediation in the areas of reading and math, or a vocational course.  Equine Science is the first vocational course offered followed by culinary arts and welding.

  • Take I-10 / FL-8 toward Lake City.
  • Take Exit 283/US-129, heading toward Jasper/Live Oak.
  • Keep left toward the Jasper/Sheriffs Boys Ranch/Spirit of Suwannee Music Park-Camp.
  • Turn left onto US-129 N/FL-51.  Continue to follow FL-51.
  • Turn right onto 2nd St/FL-51.  Continue to follow FL-51.
  • Turn right onto NE 38th St., which is just past NW 39th Way.  If you reach NW 110th Dr., you've gone about 0.1 miles too far.
  • NE 38th St. is poorly marked, but it is on the right just before the Sheriff's Department (on the left).
  • 11180 NE 38th St. is about 100 yards in, on the left hand side.  If you reach NE 39th Dr., you've gone about 0.1 miles too far.
