The Miami Substance Abuse Treatment Center is a low- and moderate-risk, staff-secure substance abuse treatment program for boys, ages 14 to 18, operated by the not-for-profit Henry and Rilla White Youth Foundation, Inc. This program uses evidence-based curriculum and treatment, including Boys Council, Thinking for Change, Motivational Interviewing and Substance Abuse Treatment.  The youth receive substance abuse treatment through Behavioral Health Overlay Services (BHOS) and behavioral modification through a behavior management system.  The program utilizes and provides individual and group mental health counseling, and family therapy. Basic medical services are provided onsite. Youth are expected to know, live by and exhibit daily, the Six Pillars of Conduct: Respect, Responsibility, Trustworthiness, Caring, Fairness, and Citizenship. Youth also will have the opportunity to engage with the community consistent with Restorative Justice Principles. All clothing and hygiene products are provided. The average length of stay for low-risk commitment is 3 to 6 months.  The average length of stay for moderate-risk commitment is 6 to 9 months.

Miami Substance Abuse Treatment Center (school number 137811) is a Type 2 program offering English, Math, Science, Social Studies, and one elective course. The elective course is typically used to provide additional reading assistance to needy students or vocational training.
