Marion Youth Academy (MYA) is a non-secure residential facility for male offenders. Trained mental health staff provide a variety of evidence-based programs that are designed to intervene in the delinquent lifestyle, foster normal adolescent maturation, and prepare youth for reintegration into the home and community.

All youth are provided with individualized treatment plans to address their specific mental health needs and seek to integrate the family and other natural supports into their treatment.  It is the program's goal to encourage and enhance positive law-abiding behavior while providing the youth with the tools they will need for a successful future.

All required clothing and footwear is provided.  The anticipated, average length of stay is between three and nine months, depending upon the individual youth's pace of success in completing his individualized treatment plan and goals.

Marion Youth Academy is a Type 2 program offering English, Math, Science, Social Studies, and one elective course. The elective course is typically used to provide additional reading assistance to needy students or vocational training.

Education and vocational services are provided through the Marion County School District. Vocational opportunities include: Masonry Project, Habitat for Humanity, Food Handlers and Florida Ready to Work. The program also provides vocational training through the National Center for Construction Education & Research (NCCER) and the Junior Achievement Program.

This program serves as a GED® test site.
