The Crestview Youth Academy (CYA) Borderline Developmental Disability (BDD) / Developmental Disability (DD) Nonsecure Program serves 24 males, ages 13 to 18, in a non-secure residential environment that provides treatment services for adjudicated boys who meet the criteria for BDD services and for those who meet the criteria for DD services.

While the age range for admission is 13 to 18 years of age, admission shall be determined on a case-by-case basis.

The anticipated, average length of stay is between three and nine months, depending on the youth's pace of success in completing his individualized treatment plan and goals.

The Crestview Youth Academy BDD / DD Nonsecure Program is a Type 3 program offering English, Math, Science, Social Studies, and one elective course. The elective course is typically used to provide additional reading assistance to needy students or vocational training.

Education and vocational services are provided through the Okaloosa County School District. Vocational opportunities include: Masonry, Electronics Technician, Carpentry and Horticulture.

This program serves as a GED® test site.
