Bristol Youth Academy is a moderate-risk program for males, ages 14 to 18, that uses a psycho-educational cognitive behavioral model. The program uses a holistic wellness approach that builds on the assets of the youth and develops individual strengths. The program emphasizes the restoration of the youth's view of himself, good relationships between the youth and those who support him, his family, and the community.

The program is divided into five distinct phases and the youth must complete all phases in order to graduate from the program. Bristol Youth Academy provides behavioral health services, psycho-educational groups, anger management, victim awareness, social skills, moral development, and gang intervention. The program also provides individualized mental health and substance abuse services.  The anticipated average length of stay is 6 to 9 months.

Bristol Youth Academy (school number 390052) is a Type 3 program offering English, Math, Science, Social Studies, and one elective course. The elective course is typically used to provide additional reading assistance to needy students or vocational training.

Education services are provided by the Liberty County Public School System, including the General Education Diploma® (GED®).  Vocational training is provided by Home Builders Institute (HBI).
