Governor Scott Announces Christina Daly as Secretary of Department of Juvenile Justice

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -Today, Governor Scott announced that Christina Daly will become Secretary of the Department of Juvenile Justice after serving as interim since July.

Governor Scott said, “Christina has provided strong leadership at the Department of Juvenile Justice and shown a commitment to improving the lives of Florida children. We announced this week that youth arrests are at the lowest level in 30 years, and I know she will keep working to increase public safety. Christina has shown a dedication to enriching the lives of every Florida child, and I’m confident she’ll continue to make Florida the best place to raise a family.” 

Christina Daly said, “I’m honored and humbled to be named Secretary of the Department of Juvenile Justice. I am committed to continuing our success in decreasing delinquency and increasing safety for every child in Florida. Under Governor Scott’s leadership, we will continue to work to make Florida the best place to live, work and raise a family.”

Prior to becoming interim Secretary, Christina Daly held numerous positions at the Department of Juvenile Justice. Prior to joining DJJ, Daly worked in various positions at the Florida Network of Youth and Family Services, where she led the statewide implementation of the renowned Safe Place program. Daly received a bachelor’s degree in Social Work from Florida State University.
