Palmetto Youth Academy provides quality treatment services for youth who have a primary diagnosis of substance abuse and those who have been dually diagnosed. The facility uses evidenced based assessments and practices such as Thinking For Change [T4C], Living In Balance, ARISE, etc. to enhance protective factors while building skills to address criminogenic needs and decrease risk factors. We use motivational interviewing techniques and choice language to facilitate our evidenced based practices and stimulate positive, self-motivated change in each youth through individual, group, and family services. Groups are provided seven days per week. Family services are offered through family counseling, visitation, education, treatment teams, and special family days conducted quarterly. In addition, it is important that our youth make reparation to the community and victims of crime. This is accomplished through balanced and restorative justice activities and groups. Health and wellness services are provided through the in-house medical department.
