The Orange Youth Academy is a 48-bed high-risk residential program for males that is hardware- and staff-secure. The average length of stay for each youth is 9 to 12 months. The program provides Mental Health Overlay Services (MHOS). Treatment and educational programs are based on the therapeutic community model, incorporate the principles of restorative justice and reflect proven cognitive-behavioral treatment modalities. The goal is to provide an environment that offers opportunity for growth and fosters feelings of safety and well being. Residents participate in psychotherapeutic process group's individual therapy and family reunification to help them learn to identify feelings, process events, to gain control over their abusive behavior, victim reparation skills, post trauma and to increase their pro-social interaction with peers.

Orange Youth Academy (school number 488009) is a Type 2 program offering English, Math, Science, Social Studies, and one elective course. The elective course is typically used to provide additional reading assistance to needy students or vocational training.

Education and vocational services are provided through the Orange County School District.
