PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
St. Johns Youth Academy is located in St.
Augustine Florida. The program is a moderate-risk
facility operated by Youth Services International. It
is designed for male offenders between the ages of 14 to 18
years old. The facility has a capacity for 34 youth.
The program provides Residential Substance Abuse Treatment (RSAT)
services and utilizes an evidenced based, Cognitive
Behavioral approach in the delivery of substance abuse
treatment services. Mental health, substance abuse,
case management and psychiatric services are available on
site. The average length of stay is 6 to 9 months.
The St. Johns County School Board provides on-site
educational services which consists of general education and
ESE services. Vocational skill training is also
available and is designed to assist the youth with resume'
writing, work keys certification and the development of
skills to enhance the youth's employability. A GED
track is also available. All clothing and hygiene
products are provided to the youth and youth are not to
bring any personal items.
