Presentations/Training/CEU

The 2011 Office of Health Services Medical and Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services Annual Training was held at the Rosen Centre Hotel & Conference Center in Orlando, FL. Monday, May 23rd and Tuesday, May 24th, 2011.

One hundred and fifty Medical, Mental Health and Substance Abuse state employed and contracted staff, including provider staff, registered for the Annual Health Services Training. This training was funded by the Juvenile Accountability Block Grant. Licensed participants received eleven continuing education units (CEUs) for their attendance at the two day training.

Medical and Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services Third Annual Training 2009:

The Office of Health Services held the Third Annual Health Services Training February 16th & 17th, in Orlando, to bring together the Department of Juvenile Justice medical, mental health and substance abuse clinical and administrative staff. This is the first year to include both the state and contracted medical and mental health professionals. This training was funded by the Juvenile Accountability Block Grant and had 125 attendees.

Gayla Sumner, Ph.D., Director of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services and Tracy Shelby, M.S., Ed.S., Mental Health & Substance Abuse Services Coordinator conducted the trainings and addressed questions. All participants received a printed Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services Manual Revised August 2006 and a certificate of attendance.

The Office of Health Services held statewide trainings on the Health Services Manual Revised (2006). Ann Minor, R.N., from Interim Health Care, Kathy Wilson, R.N., Registered Nursing Consultant from the Office of Health Services, Patricia Head, R.N., Priscilla Petrarca, R.N. and Wanda DeLuigi, R.N., Registered Nursing Consultants from DJJ Detention Services conducted the trainings and addressed questions. Each attendee received training module handouts and a certification with a passing test score.
